Monkey Wrench Answers — Daily Puzzles
Every puzzle solved — free, no sign-up, updated daily.
Monkey Wrench Answers is your complete daily-puzzle archive for the themed word search by Blue Ox Family Games — the same studio behind 7 Little Words and Red Herring. Every day Blue Ox releases a fresh puzzle. Every category, every answer, every bonus word — solved free, with no sign-up, and updated within an hour of release.
Monkey Wrench works by hiding four themed word categories inside a letter-tile grid. The theme of each category is concealed at the start; as you find words that belong to it, the category name is gradually revealed. The moment that connection clicks — when you realise what links the words you’ve been finding — is what makes the game genuinely satisfying. Each daily puzzle gives you four themes to solve, for 4 themed categories per day.
Each page on this site shows the complete verified word list for that category, organised by puzzle date and theme. Whether you’re stuck on a single tricky theme or want to verify your whole board, everything is on one clean page. The full archive covers every Monkey Wrench puzzle since launch, so you can catch up on any day you missed.

How to Play Monkey Wrench
Monkey Wrench is published by Blue Ox Family Games, the studio behind 7 Little Words. Each day brings a fresh Daily Puzzle.
The game uses a distinctive hexagonal honeycomb grid where letter tiles are arranged in interlocking hexagons rather than a traditional square word-search layout. This hex grid means each tile connects to six neighbours instead of four, creating more possible word paths and a unique visual puzzle experience.
Each puzzle contains four themed categories. The category theme is hidden at the start. Your task: find the words that belong to the theme by selecting connected hex tiles in sequence. The theme is revealed as you solve. The moment a connection clicks — when you realise the category that links all the words — is what makes the game genuinely satisfying.
Monkey Wrench offers three difficulty modes: Easy, Medium, and Hard. Easy mode highlights potential starting tiles and gives more generous hints. Medium is the standard experience. Hard removes visual aids and shortens the timer for experienced solvers who want a real challenge.
Words are formed by selecting hex tiles in order. Valid words (even those outside the hidden theme) count as bonus words and build your score. If you get stuck, the hint system can reveal a letter or highlight a tile to nudge you in the right direction without giving away the full answer. The puzzle is complete when all mandatory theme words are placed in the grid and the category banner is fully revealed.
Tips for Solving Monkey Wrench Puzzles
Read the first few revealed letters as a category hint. Monkey Wrench reveals the category name as you solve. Even partial reveals like “Sing—” narrow your guesses immediately to singers, songwriters, or songs.
Scan diagonals too. Monkey Wrench hides words in straight lines including diagonals. Most players miss diagonals on first pass.
Look for longer words first. A 13-letter answer anchors more of the grid than a 4-letter word — finding the longest word in each category first eliminates the most cells.
Use the category banner clue once it appears. Once the theme name shows, you can guess specific answers from memory rather than scanning every letter.
Check our archive for similar themes. Recurring themes appear regularly. Browsing our archive shows you which answers Monkey Wrench has used before.
Use hints strategically. Monkey Wrench’s hint system can reveal a single letter or highlight a tile when you’re truly stuck. Save hints for the final word in a category — that’s where they have the biggest impact.
Take a break on stubborn categories. Switch to another category in the same puzzle. The crossing letters often reveal the theme.
